IRA Charitable Rollover
Every year anyone over the age of 70 1/2 as defined by the IRS, who own an IRA, have the option of transfer up to $100,000 to any charity, tax-free. For married couples, that amount doubles to $200,000 yearly.
Traditional IRAs are taxed when received. However, if the distribution is paid directly to a charity, like YWCA Clinton, it becomes tax-free.
