Lifeguards
Lifeguard position open for all shifts, especially early morning shifts and early afternoon shifts. Must have current lifeguard and CPR certification. Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director or other assigned staff, the lifeguard is responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and operation of the swimming pool during operating hours. The primary function of the lifeguard will be to safeguard the health and safety of YWCA members, class participants, and guests. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Reports to work a minimum of ten minutes prior to assigned shift in order to receive communications and instructions from supervisor or previous lifeguard. Responsible for safety of all swimmers during shift and for the interpretation and enforcement of all pool rules. Responsible for chemical reading of pool conditions according to bathing code. Adjusts pool as necessary. Responsible for the upkeep of the pool area and equipment and notifying supervisor of any needed repairs or adjustments. May perform needed repairs as qualified. Lifeguards must be sitting or standing during their entire shift of work. Exposure to some chemicals; hot humid environment
Fitness Instructors: Land and Water Classes
Part-Time: 1-5 hours / week This is a part-time customer-facing role responsible for organizing and leading YWCA fitness classes, creating appropriate work-out regimes, instructing participants on proper and safe form, welcoming all guests/members to classes and positively representing the YWCA. Substitute Fitness Instructors: Land and Water Classes
Part-Time: 0-5 hours / week – dependent on need This is a part-time customer-facing role responsible for acting as a reliable substitute for YWCA fitness classes. Requires the ability to lead fitness classes, follow predetermined class format and/or create appropriate work-out regimes, instruct participants on proper and safe form, welcome all guests/members to classes and positively represent the YWCA. Part-Time: 0-5 hours / week – dependent on need This is a part-time customer-facing role responsible for acting as a reliable substitute for YWCA senior-friendly fitness classes. Requires a short introductory training on SilverSneakers® fitness program and familiarity with class in question. In addition, applicant will require the ability to lead fitness classes, follow predetermined class format and/or create appropriate work-out regimes, instruct participants on proper and safe form per SilverSneakers® guidelines, welcome all guests/members to classes and positively represent the YWCA.
