Medical Programs
YWCA Clinton is dedicated to enhancing quality of life for individuals facing distinct challenges with their mental or physical health through specialized programs and collaborative partnerships with medical programs.
How Above + Beyond Cancer Works
Above + Beyond Cancer at YWCA Clinton is offered to members of the community that have been affected by cancer at any stage after diagnosis.
If the client is not a member of YWCA Clinton, a medical referral is required by having a medical professional fill out the attached form entitled, “Do You Want to Be Part Of This Program” and faxing the form to our HIPAA protected website, Community Health Partners (CHP) Workshop Wizard.
Upon receiving the referral, the client will be given a 3-month scholarship to YWCA Clinton. A time will be set up with the client for an assessment with one of our certified cancer exercise trainers to help us understand the client’s goals, fitness level, limitations in mobility or range of motion, medications taken and any other health issues before beginning an exercise program with us.
Total Training, our group training session, is on Tuesdays at 10am for one hour but if the client/trainer decide that the group training will not work due to schedule or due to physical limitations, one-on-one sessions are available as well.
